DLGS Summer School 2022

One of the important milestones in the DLGS academic programme, the Summer School this year was held on Sep 21st, 2022 at the Deutsche Hygiene Museum Dresden, as a preceding event to the IOER Annual Conference.

More than 40 people attended the event including PhD candidates from DLGS and IOER, and external universities such as University of Milan, University of Bayreuth, Leibniz Hannover University, RWTH Aachen among others. Depending on the stage of the PhD they are in, the candidates presented their methodological approach or their preliminary findings, and invited discussion on their work from other professors and senior scientists in the audience. Highlight of the event was the afternoon workshop on the topic “Engaged scholarship and co-creativity: Are you a change agent?” by Prof. Ina Horlings (University of Groningen). The workshop aimed at invoking self-reflection amongst the young researchers on their role and positionality in research and how does it affect their choice of methods and subsequent contribution to place based sustainability transformations.
