Working title:
Integration of climate resilience into urban regeneration - the Case of Seoul
Supervisor:
Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Bernhard Müller, Technische Universität Dresden
Abstract:
Although urban regeneration offers great potential to increase climate resilience, practice in Korean cities shows that these opportunities are not taken up. Using the case of Seoul, this dissertation is oriented to identify institutional impediments increasing climate resilience through document analysis and semi-structured interviews with main stakeholders in urban regeneration areas. It will provide empirical evidence on the role of governance and institutions to increase urban climate resilience.
Keywords: urban climate resilience, urban regeneration
