An interdisciplinary study programme structures the work of the DLGS Doctoral Students.

Programme structure

  • Courses in empirical, theoretical and methodical state of research (Course Economy, Course Spatial Development and Spatial Planning, Course Sociology)
  • Workshops for intensive discussion of specific topics (e.g. research design, interview techniques, academic writing)
  • Colloquia for continuous development of doctoral theses based on the presentation of research papers
  • Summer Schools for deepened discussion cross-sectoral themes on state of research for  improvement of dissertations
  • International orientated Conferences for international networking of Graduate School

External experts are involved into supervision of the DLGS student research papers. Furthermore external experts are involved in implementation of workshops and courses, such as special quantitative and qualitative methods.

Work location

Location of the the DLGS is Dresden. The TU Dresden provides office space to all DLGS students during their doctorate.

Financial support is provided for study abroad and for research trips.
